Whilst we had some rain it wasn’t too bad and we were able to catch up with family and friends over the days and evenings.
Please say thank you to your husband who we met one day on our way out. He invited us to look at your garden, which we did. A secret one and a delight when we found the fritillarys in flower with the daffodils and cowslips. We have managed for the 3rd year running to get them to flower here at home and now spreading in a bog garden (after many years trying different sites). Your husband also told us to check the photos in the Brook book in the house to see what the gardens had been like originally. So much history (and I hated History as a subject at school as I didn’t like the teacher!!!) and we were very taken with all the information about the house.
Being at North Brook (despite thinking that the stairs would defeat us, they didn’t) gave us a wonderful bird’s eye view for red squirrel watching as well as the crow family roost, jays, coal tits, peregrines, buzzards and onwards as the sun came into the sitting room in the afternoon.
The bread, milk and tea/coffee/jams were again very much appreciated. A very well equipped kitchen, thank you.
Hopefully we will be back next year.”
