Off The Rails, Yarmouth
For those exploring the Island, a pit-stop at Off The Rails Café in Yarmouth is a must for families on Yarmouth’s old railway line. Ideally located next to Wight Cycle Hire, for those that would rather cycle than walk, and offering picturesque views over the Yar Estuary, this quaint café is the perfect place to grab a bite and recharge your batteries after a day of exploration.
Off The Rails serves up hearty sandwiches alongside rustic staples such as ‘sackbarrow’ soup and smoked haddock chowder; its focus on fuss-free, classic dishes means you’ll leave the restaurant full and satisfied, no matter your choice. With breakfast options available, as well as a selection of home-made cakes, the café is the perfect rest-stop at any time of day.
The food is fantastic, but what really sets this place apart is its décor and heritage. Once part of Yarmouth Railway Station, the building was lovingly renovated and reopened as a restaurant and haven for cyclists, walkers, tourists and locals recently. We’d certainly recommend it!
