Chessell Pottery Barns
Guests of Brook House are never short of things to do here on the Island – and the variety of interests that you can partake in is truly staggering. One of our guests’ favourites is an afternoon at the Chessell Pottery Barn nearby – which is a working pottery studio that allows visitors to create and hand paint true, English made pottery and explore their creative side.
Whether you want to decorate a small pottery shape, or a giant vase, there are options to suit every artist starting at a range of price points. All visitors to the Chessell Pottery Barns will get a tour, a studio demonstration and access to the wide range of paints and equipment needed to create a masterpiece. To ensure that the masterpiece stays with you for long after your visit, they’ll also glaze and fire your creation too for you – ready for you to collect in a few days, or receive via the post on your return from your holiday to the Isle of Wight.
We’re also especially fond of their café – a wonderful spot for a cream tea, a coffee and a cake or even a light lunch from their fabulous home-made menu – and their shop, where you can browse and buy a wide range of pottery creations perfect for gifting, or for creating a centre piece in your own home. You will find the Chessell Pottery Barns on Brook Road, near Yarmouth.
